The processor implements the method including defining a main area and an extension area of a display of the electronic device, detecting selecting selection of a displayed content, detecting by a processor whether a characteristic of a portion of the content disposed along an edge of the content is equal to or less than a threshold, and enlarging the selected displayed content for display on the main area and extending to the extension area based on whether the characteristic of the portion is equal to or less than the threshold.
