A parameter is determined based on the first directional signal and the second directional signal, which represents a quantitative measure of the stationarity of a sound signal. A noise-optimized signal is generated from the first directional signal and the second directional signal based on the parameter. The method is performed by a hearing device having a first microphone and a second microphone for generating a first directional signal and a second directional signal.
