The flash unit further includes an energy quantity control device, by means of which it is possible to provide for each light source channel any desired energy quantity from a minimum charge to a maximum charge of the at least one energy storage element, and a color temperature control device, by means of which it is possible to set a color temperature for each light source channel independently of the energy quantity provided therefor. The functions of all light source channels are fully equivalent.
