The electronic device includes: a memory; an abnormality detection circuit; and a processor functionally connected with the memory or the abnormality detection circuit, wherein the processor is configured to detect whether there is an abnormality in an electric shock prevention circuit or whether a leakage path is formed from a ground of the electronic device to the metal member by using the abnormality detection circuit, and to control charging a battery of the electronic device according to whether there is the abnormality in the electric shock prevention circuit or whether the leakage path is formed.
