The image magnifying apparatus includes: an input interface configured to receive an input signal including an image; at least one processor to implement: a selector configured to select one of a plurality of different interpolation methods, used for interpolating a pixel for an interpolation object position in the image, based on information about the interpolation object position and peripheral pixels thereof; and an interpolator configured to generate an interpolation pixel for an interpolation object position by applying the selected interpolation method; and an output interface configured to output a magnified image including the selected interpolation pixel.
