The method is implemented by a system for display and interaction including a first so-called head-down man-machine interface and a second so-called head-up man-machine interface. The method includes determining a line of sight of the pilot, receiving a command to enter the frozen display mode and keeping at least part of the display on the second man-machine interface in a frozen position, independently of the pilot's line of sight, then displaying at least one complementary man-machine interface element, as a function of the pilot's line of sight, in at least one free area of the cockpit, and displaying a cursor representative of the pilot's line of sight.
