The electronic device includes: a speech input interface comprising speech input circuitry; a communicator comprising communication circuitry; a storage configured to store at least one keyword for each of a plurality of domains; and a processor configured to control the electronic device to: obtain keywords from a user's speech input through the speech input interface, identify a domain related to the obtained keywords based on a comparison between the obtained keywords and the keywords stored in the storage, and control the electronic device to perform speech recognition for the user's speech through an engine based on the identified domain. At least portions of the storage and a learning method of an engine may include artificial intelligence algorithms, and may be performed according to at least one of machine learning, a neural network, and/or a deep learning algorithm.
