The electronic device includes: a communicator including a first wireless communication module and a second wireless communication module; at least one memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to: control the first wireless communication module to obtain first identification information, of an external electronic device, for performing wireless communication via the first communication protocol, control the second wireless communication module to obtain second identification information for performing wireless communication via the second communication protocol, and based on the second identification information being identified to be associated with the external electronic device according to a comparison between the first identification information and the second identification information, associate the second identification information with location information of the electronic device and transmit the associated information to a server.
