An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention may comprise: an input module configured to receive a user input; a processor operatively connected to the input module; and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: receive a first input including a query through the input module; determine a recommended application matching the query among multiple applications installed in the electronic device; output an identification message for execution of the recommended application; receive a second input corresponding to the identification message; and execute the recommended application in response to reception of the second input.
