The connection control portion is configured to: select, as a connection target, the base station having a highest receiving level and attempt to connect to the connection target; exclude the selected base station from connection candidates when the attempt to connect to the selected base station failed; and subsequently select, as the connection target, the base station from nearby base stations in order of proximity to a current position of the communication terminal and attempt to connect to the selected base station.
