In some aspects, a mobile station may receive first downlink control information (DCI) indicating a first redundancy version (RV) index value associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. The mobile station may transmit, based at least in part on receiving the DCI indicating the first RV index value, data using a second RV index value, the second RV index value being different from the first RV index value.
