A method for restoring a home screen of an electronic device is disclosed that includes backing up a first home screen being a home screen of a first electronic device including a first display having a first structure, determining a second structure being a structure of a second display being a display of a second electronic device different from the first electronic device, and restoring the first home screen to a second home screen being a home screen of the second electronic device based on the second structure. The restoring to the second home screen includes converting a layout where a plurality of content making up the first home screen are arranged to correspond to the second structure.
