According to an embodiment disclosed in this specification, an electronic device may include a camera including an image sensor, a display panel, a display driver integrated circuit (DDI) that drives the display panel at a first frame rate, a memory, and a processor operatively connected to the camera, the display panel, the DDI, and the memory. The DDI may drive the display panel in a plurality of cycles to output one frame corresponding to the first frame rate. The camera may perform exposure of the image sensor in a section, in which one or more lines among lines constituting the display panel do not emit light, in the plurality of cycles. The memory may store instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to determine illuminance around the electronic device using image data according to the exposure.
