An electrical connector includes a housing and a required number of contacts held and fixed in the housing. The housing is provided with at least one projection on each of surfaces defining its thickness and is provided with a block formed integrally with or separately from the housing. The block is formed with a through-hole in its one flange portion, into which a fixing pin can be inserted, whereby the electrical connector is mounted on a panel in a floating manner. With this arrangement, the electrical connector can be simply and easily mounted on the panel without increasing manufacturing cost.
