An inner sleeve has a screwthread threadedly engaging the jaw outer edges, is axially shiftable on the body, and can rotate about the axis to axially displace the jaws. A mechanism engaged between the inner sleeve and the chuck body can axially displace the inner sleeve relative to the body and thereby axially displace the jaws.
