Pressure-sensitive adhesive tape for medical diagnostic strips used to analyze biological fluids, the tape comprising a carrier material coated on one or both sides with not more than 20 g/m2, preferably not more than 15 g/m2, per side, of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, where the shear strength of the pressure-sensitive adhesive at 25° C. and 70° C. under a weight load of 1000 g is greater than 10 000 min and the polymer or polymers of the pressure sensitive adhesive has or have a K value of greater than 55 Pa*s.
