Electronic equipment includes a display portion that includes a screen in which a menu is displayed, a controller that is rotatable or pivotable around an axis and movable in a plurality of different positions in a axis direction, an indicator that displays a position in the axis direction of the controller on the screen, and a processor that carries out a processing according to a function that is selected according to a rotation or a pivot of the controller from selectable functions which changes according to a position in the axis direction of the controller.
