The invention relates to an airbag module for a motor vehicle comprising an airbag, a gas generator for inflating the airbag, and a housing for accommodating both the gas generator and the airbag. According to the invention, the airbag (1) and the gas generator (2) are arranged on opposite sides (30a, 30b) of a wall (30) of the housing (3).
