The light exiting surface is opposite the light incident surface. The luminance uniformity enhancing members are formed on at least one of the light incident surface and the light exiting surface. Each of the luminance uniformity enhancing members includes a recessed surface formed between a first closed loop and a second closed loop surrounding the first closed loop. Therefore, luminance uniformity is enhanced due to the luminance uniformity enhancing member. Furthermore, a distance between a display panel and the backlight assembly may be reduced to decrease volume of a display apparatus, and a luminance of the display apparatus may be enhanced.
