A feature extraction unit processes the fingerprint image, using processing methods defined respectively for the plurality of groups. A verification data preparation unit prepares fingerprint verification data. A fingerprint identification unit checks the fingerprint verification data prepared by an identification data preparation unit against fingerprint identification data enrolled in a biological information storage unit.
