Moreover driving is such that in any one horizontal period, plural scanning lines, to which is supplied a pulse signal rising at a timing corresponding to an application period of a positive polarity potential, are adjacent to each other, and plural scanning lines, to which is supplied a pulse signal rising at a timing corresponding to an application period of a negative polarity potential, are adjacent to each other.
