A syndication system and method for the syndication of remote modules. The system comprises a syndication server that receives a module request from a syndication recipient server, identifies one or more modules based on the module request, and outputs data based on one or more module specifications associated with the one or more modules. The module specification comprises a content element and one or more optional preference elements that enable a server to provide preferences to the module.
