An image display apparatus includes an air-tight container, and an image display member and a spacer provided in the air-tight container. The spacer has a first electroconductive member fixed to the spacer and is fixed to a second electroconductive member provided outside an image display area by a weld joining in the air-tight container. The second electroconductive member is defined with a predetermined potential.
