To accomplish communications, the portable communications device establishes a communication link with a wireless access point using one or several well-known secure wireless protocols. The wireless access point establishes a communication link with the enterprise network through the VPN and bridges the connections to afford an end-to-end link between the portable computing device and the enterprise network.
