Fastening device for fastening a component B to a component A with automatic compensation of tolerances in the spacing between the two components, comprising a base unit 2 which consists of a blind rivet nut 12 which may be secured to the component A, a threaded adjusting nut 10 and a sleeve-shaped retainer 14 which receives the threaded adjusting nut 10 and connects said threaded adjusting nut to the blind rivet nut 12, an adjusting unit 4 which consists of a threaded sleeve 40, a locating plate 38 and a driving bush 36 which connects the threaded sleeve 40 and the locating plate 38, the threaded sleeve 40 of the adjusting unit 4 being able to be screwed into the threaded adjusting nut 10 of the base unit 2 via a first thread pairing G1 of a first thread direction, and a fastening screw 8 which may be screwed into the blind rivet nut secured to the component A via a second thread pairing G2 of an opposing second thread direction, and forms with the driving bush 36 a releasable coupled connection in order to rotate the adjusting unit 4 during rotation of the fastening screw 8 and thereby to move the locating plate 38 into contact with the component B for the purpose of tolerance compensation.
