As the upper dielectric layer is far away from a discharge region portion between the scan electrode and sustain electrode, the width of the upper dielectric layer gradually increases. A distance between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode positioned within a discharge cell partitioned by the barrier rib is more than a height of the barrier rib.
