A visual display interface (910), suitable for use in an electronic device (900), includes an elastic substrate having a plurality of addressable picture elements disposed on a side thereof forming a viewable display area. The size and/or shape of the viewable display area are configurable by expanding or contracting the substrate predominately parallel to a surface dimension of viewable display area.
