The invention relates to a device for feeding samples to a separating device and for collecting sample fractions generated by means of the separating device, especially for high-performance liquid chromatography, with a first switch valve unit (201), which has at least eight ports (port numbers 1 to 8) and two switch positions, wherein, in a first switch position (1-2), exactly two adjacent ports are interconnected and wherein, in a second switch position (8-1), exactly those adjacent ports that are not interconnected in the first switch position are interconnected. The device has a dosing device (4) for feeding a sample to the switch valve unit (201), which is connected to a suction port (port number 1) of the first switch valve unit (201) and which interacts with a removal and discharge device (6) for the removal of a sample from at least one sample-holding container (7) and for the discharge of each fraction into one of several fraction-holding containers (12), which is connected to a suction and discharge port (port number 6) of the first switch valve unit (201). The ports of the first switch valve unit (201) are assigned so that in the first switch position (1-2), the suction port (port number 1) and the first sample reservoir port (port number 2), the solution feed port (port number 3) and the separating device transfer port (port number 4), the second sample reservoir port (port number 5) and the suction and discharge port (port number 6), and also the separating device transfer port (port number 7) and the waste port (port number 8) are interconnected and so that, in the second switch position (8-1), the first sample reservoir port (port number 2) and the solution feed port (port number 3), the separating device transfer port (port number 4) and the second sample reservoir port (port number 5), the suction and discharge port (port number 6) and the separating device transfer port (port number 7), and also the waste port (port number 8) and the suction port (port number 1) are interconnected.
