The processor is configured to: measure time that has elapsed since establishment of a communication connection between a first communication terminal and a second communication terminal, or since a predetermined point subsequent to the establishment of the communication connection; and select image data to be sent to the first communication terminal from among captured image data or alternative image data, on the basis of the measured elapsed time, to allow the first communication terminal to display an image on the basis of the selected image data.
