This device comprises at least one filter screen element (6) placed in a filter housing (2) which is located downstream a filter element (3) for the filtration of particles from the fuel, a tank (15) located under the filter screen element (6) at the filter housing (2) in which the separated water droplets are collected, and a device for deviating the fuel between the filter element (3) and the filter screen element (6).
