The first modulation path has a digital modulator for providing an amplitude signal and a Cartesian signal pair from the first useful signal and a Cartesian modulator for modulating the Cartesian signal pair onto the carrier frequency signal in order to provide an intermediate signal. The first modulation path is configured in such a manner that the amplitude signal is modulated onto the intermediate signal in order to provide an output signal.
