The absorbent article comprises a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a pair of longitudinal barrier cuffs attached to the chassis. Each of the longitudinal barrier cuffs is comprised of a web of material. The web of material has a low surface tension fluid strikethrough time of at least about 19 seconds, and an air permeability of at least about 20 m3/m2/min.
