Pneumatic tyre with built-in self-sealing layer comprising an outer rubbery tread, a carcass reinforcement, a gastight layer positioned on the inside relative to the carcass reinforcement, a protective layer positioned innermost and a self-sealing layer adjacent to the protective layer and positioned on the inside relative to the gastight layer, characterized in that said protective layer is a chlorinated thermoplastic polymer film.
