The invention relates to a laser scanning system (1) for scanning a laser beam (3) of a hair cutting device, the laser scanning system (1) comprising a laser scanning device (7) for generating a scanning movement of the laser beam and a movable optical device (5) for adjusting and/or focussing the laser beam. According to the invention the laser scanning device (7) comprises an arrangement with at least one movable optical element (11) which is mechanically coupled to the movable optical device (5), and an optical system (13) fixed to the laser scanning device (7), wherein the movable optical element (11) is arranged to inter-relate a position of the movable optical device (5) to a mobile access-position (23) where the laser beam enters the optical system (13), and wherein the optical system (13) is arranged to inter-relate said mobile access-position (23) to at least one corresponding position where the laser beam is incident on the movable optical device (5). The invention further relates to a corresponding hair cutting device (27) and a method of scanning a laser beam (3).
