Personal information of a friend in a user social network is associated with a local contact list of a user terminal, and the association comprises: establishing, in a user terminal, a correspondence relationship between a record of contact in the local contact list and personal information of the contact in one or more social networks. With the method and the apparatus of the present invention, a user can also conveniently use the user information and personal information of a friend of MSN or IM and so on, without logging in to MSN or IM.
