The content processing method includes: determining that the application content needs to be cached in a content caching device in a network; and distributing the application content to the content caching device in the network. The content processing method and the network side device of the embodiments of the present invention may avoid HTTP proxy processing of a content delivery network, thereby reducing the complexity of the network processing.
