BACKLIGHT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS
Abstract:
In a backlight (20) including a frame (22) having an opening (22a), and a light guide plate assembly (23) disposed inside the frame (22) and having a light guide plate (24) and a light source (25), the backlight being configured to emit illumination light through the opening (22a), the frame (22) is formed by bending a metal plate and includes a bottom surface portion (22b) facing a rear surface of the light guide plate (24), a peripheral surface portion (22c) standing on a peripheral edge of the bottom surface portion (22b), and an upper surface portion (22d) bent from an upper end of the peripheral surface portion (22c) to form a peripheral edge of the opening, and an outer shape of the light guide plate assembly (23) is smaller than the opening (22a).
