The metallic pigment particle includes a non-functionalized aluminum pigment, and a latex layer directly contacting a surface of the non-functionalized aluminum pigment to encapsulate the non-functionalized aluminum pigment. The resin particles are i) present as discrete particles in the non-polar carrier fluid or ii) associated with the latex layer.
