The invention is directed to activating a guidance light for a mobile device. An exemplary method comprises: determining, by the mobile device, occurrence of a trigger event for the guidance light; and in response to determining occurrence of the trigger event, activating the guidance light. The guidance light is associated with a connector located in the mobile device. The connector receives a charger that is used for charging a power source in the mobile device.
