The present disclosure includes landing gear components, such as an outer cylinder of a shock strut assembly. The outer cylinder includes one or more structural attachment pins configured to engage with other components of the landing gear including pintle frames, drag braces, and torque links. The pins include a cobalt alloy mated to a cobalt containing coating for improved wear resistance, which may eliminate the need for a bushing between the pin and the receptacle of the corresponding landing gear component.
