A first alignment treatment direction is inclined in a second direction of rotation at an angle of 110° to 130° with respect to in a second alignment treatment direction. A liquid crystal material is used which contains an optically active substance which gives liquid crystal molecules a twisting force from the second alignment film toward the first alignment film in the second direction of rotation.
