The battery module includes: battery cells arranged in a first direction; a spacer disposed between neighboring battery cells; and a center pin extending in a second direction that is different from the first direction and inserted through the spacer to cross the spacer. Therefore, the battery module effectively absorbs external pressure or internal pressure caused by swelling and thus has a sufficient degree of stiffness against internal or external pressure. In addition, the battery module has a heat-dissipating structure for effectively dissipating heat generated during charging and discharging operations.
