The liquid crystal display includes: a substrate including a plurality of pixels; a pixel electrode disposed in each of the pixels; a roof layer facing the pixel electrode; a liquid crystal layer disposed in a plurality of microcavities between the pixel electrodes and the roof layer, each of the microcavities including liquid crystal material therein, wherein each of the microcavities extends across at least two of the pixels, and a width of a first light blocking member positioned between adjacent ones of the pixels corresponding to one microcavity and a width of a second light blocking member positioned between adjacent pixels of adjacent microcavities are different from each other.
