The first substrate includes a light shielding body superimposed on the slit in a region between a display area and a terminal area of the first substrate. The light shielding body includes a plurality of light shielding pieces arranged in an extending direction of the slit. The light shielding pieces adjacent to each other are arranged on different layers via an insulating layer, and are electrically insulated from each other.
