More particularly, aspects generally relate to techniques for wireless communications by an apparatus comprising receiving a packet via a wireless channel, determining a parameter indicative of frequency selectivity of the channel, selecting a smoothing filter based on the parameter; and applying the smoothing filter to process at least one portion of the packet.
