For example, a device for electrochemical erosion of material from a workpiece may include: a holder for the workpiece; an electrolyte carrier material impregnated with electrolyte; a voltage source imposing a negative potential on the electrolyte carrier; and a mechanical connection between the holder and the electrolyte carrier allowing a relative movement with at least one degree of freedom.
