Examination-specific data are transmitted to the mobile terminal. A command-relevant input is detected by at least one sensor of the mobile terminal. A planning command and/or a control command is generated in the mobile terminal on the basis of the detected signal and as a function of the examination-specific data. The planning command and/or control command is/are transmitted to a control computer of the medical imaging apparatus. The planning command and/or control command is/are executed by the control computer in order to plan and/or control the medical imaging examination.
