Systems and techniques for information centric network (ICN) island bridging are described herein. A request at an island domain node in an information centric network may be received. The request may include a data identifier. AN inter-domain discovery may be used to identify a destination domain corresponding to the data identifier. The request may be modified to create an inter-domain request. The inter-domain request may then be communicated to an inter-domain information centric network.
