An example distributed system includes a first virtual machine including a first storage device to store a first service registry for a plurality of virtual machines, and a second virtual machine, of the plurality of virtual machines, including a second storage device to store a second service registry for the second virtual machine, and a proxy service registrar having an interface to selectively provide a first service from the first service registry or the second service registry responsive to a query of the second virtual machine for the first service.
