A convertible frame for a rucksack comprises two main frame members connected together by a pair of extendable connectors; at least two leg members connected or connectable to the main frame members; and a flexible support attached or attachable to the main frame members to extend between the main frame members, the frame being convertible between a first configuration, in which the main frame members have a first distance between them, and a second configuration, in which the frame forms a support for a person and the main frame members have a second distance between them.
